How to repair a leaky vent pipe boot on a Flat Roof with Silicone Seal:
1. Clean the area around the vent pipe to remove any loose sand and dust
2. If necessary, use a putty knife or the claw of a hammer to remove old tar
3. Take masking tape and tape off a square block on the roof around the vent pipe area
4. Tape off the pipe approximately 3 inches above the area of the leak
5. Apply 1 coat of Silicone Seal to cover the area from the masking tape on the pipe and inside the square area on the roof
6. Cut a long enough polyester fleece to wrap around the vent pipe
7. Cut tabs about 2″ deep in the 4″ fleece
8. Embed the fleece into the freshly coated area wrapping the pipe and the tabs sitting flat on the roof surface
9. Apply a topcoat of Silicone Seal covering the entire fleece
10 Remove the masking tape
11. It can rain within an hour after applying the sealant and it will cure completely in 24 hours
