This is a Polyurethane based product, and it sticks to everything. Almost no preparation is needed. Use a brush, scissors, and paint the Turbo Poly Seal on and you are done.
Steps on How to repair a vent pipe on a flat roof:
1. Clean the vent pipe and roof area around the vent pipe from old caulk and accessive tar
2. Mask off with masking tape the area around the vent pipe
3. Apply one coat Turbo Poly Seal covering the roof surface and the vent pipe
4. Install the polyester fleece that was included in the Turbo Poly Seal kit over the fresh coat
5. Apply a final coat of Turbo Poly Seal covering the entire fleece and surface of the vent pipe area
6. After waiting 10 min, remove the masking tape
7. To ensure the Turbo Poly Seal lasts a long time, coat it with an oil base, urethane base or aluminum asphalt paint

It is important to do maintenance of a flat roof periodically. Check the pitch pockets, skylight flashing, and vent pipe flashing for cracks and repair accordingly.
