How to repair a leak that comes from a bathroom vent pipe on a roof. Many times it is a simple object that sticks out from a roof like a vent pipe or chimney or a skylight that causes a leak. Most of the time it’s the transition from the roof to the object that causes the leak. The transition is called the flashing. When a rubber membrane becomes separated from the flashing, then water will get in and cause damage to the underlayment.
A common way to fix this is to use caulking or roofing tar. That is a temporal solution. Tar dries up and crack and caulking shrinks and fails to seal for a long period of time.
We use a product called Turbo Poly Seal. This is a Polyurethane product that stays flexible and pliable no matter the conditions.
