Why EPDM Rubber Roofs fail prematurely.

The reason why EPDM Rubber Roofs fail is that temperatures reach up to 160 degrees breaking down the adhesives that bond the seams together. This is why most EPDM Rubber Roofs start leaking.
In the last 40 years, the EPDM manufacturers have revised the adhesives for EPDM rubber over 5 times. The last revision was in 2016 and this adhesive has not been proven yet.
It is sad to see how many homeowners get sold on EPDM Rubber Roofs. It is by far the least of the three major roofing systems out on the market. TPO is better and then there is Modified Bitumen Torch Down which is a far better system.
