Performance & Durability:
Black Super Silicone Seal For Aquarium Use:
To seal EPDM pond liner seams using Black Super Silicone Seal, begin by cleaning the surface thoroughly with lacquer thinner and a clean rag to remove all dirt, oils, and residues. Once dry, lightly scuff the EPDM surface using 120-grit sandpaper to promote adhesion. For a clean application, mask the area with painter’s tape.
Cut a strip of polyester fleece to fit over the seam, allowing a 2–3 inch overlap on each side. First, apply a generous layer of Black Super Silicone Seal directly onto the seam; next, immediately embed the fleece into the wet sealant.
Use a disposable brush to press the fleece firmly into place and smooth out any air bubbles. Apply a second coat of sealant over the fleece, fully saturating it.
Allow the sealant to cure undisturbed for 24 hours. Once fully cured, the product forms a durable, flexible, waterproof barrier that does not emit toxins, making it safe for use in pond environments with fish and plants. As a precaution, avoid exposing the sealed area to water during the curing period.
